Lars Tallert is chairman of the Sustainable Journalism Partnership and senior adviser at Fojo. He is also Sweden’s representative to UNESCO’s intergovernmental council IPDC.
Lars has more than 30 years of experience in journalism, media development and international development work. His previous assignments have included roles as advisor and consultant at the Government Office, Foreign Affairs, Sida, Ukraine’s Council of Ministers, OECD/DAC, UN Habitat, the regional Kurdish government in Iraq and at large Swedish technology companies such as Ericsson and ABB.
For two years he was stationed in Managua, Nicaragua, where he worked for the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights. Lars has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and has studied strategic communication and aid at master’s level at Stockholm University. He has also studied at the Sorbonne University in France and at the School of Journalism at Boston University.
