Educating the Rwandan Journalists of Tomorrow
A big audience had assembled to celebrate the launch of the programme. The moderator, Professor Margaret Jjuuko (left) guided everybody through the event.Fojo Media Institute and the School of Journalism and Communication (SJC) at the University of Rwanda have launched a new partnership.
It is a four year programme that will strengthen the capacity of SJC and the education of the Rwandan journalists of tomorrow. The programme is financed by Sweden.

The speakers: Nelson Ijumba, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UR; Bo Göransson, Head of the Board of Fojo; Maria Håkansson, Chargé d´Affaires at the Swedish Embassy; Joseph Njuguna, Ag Dean at SJC and Fiona Muthoni, Student at SJC.
Student representative Fiona Muthoni gave a speech saying that she chose journalism because it instills fire in her belly, ”for me there isn´t any other choice”.Representatives from Rwandan media interview Bo Göransson, Head of the Board of Fojo Media Institute and former Ambassador to Rwanda.
Students from SJC had, together with students from the Department for Creative Design, developed a graphic profile that will be used throughout the programme.
