How do you prepare for a program proposal for Rwanda, when you have to stay in Sweden because of Corona? During the past two weeks Fojo and SR MDO have conducted four stakeholder meetings online. Despite the geographical distance we managed to have in-depth discussions about media development in Rwanda with Donors, Media Agencies, and Media practitioners.
This was made possible with the help of our colleague Alex Buyinza in Kigali who moderated the meetings. We were also helped and supported by our new partner in Rwanda, Pax Press, and the Swedish and Swiss Embassies in Kigali – but of course, we wished that the Swedish team could have been there in the room in Kigali!
The most urgent needs to develop the country´s media sector and plans for an Audience Research Survey were discussed. Many creative ideas were presented and we are looking forward to work with as many of them as possible!
