Iqra Salah, A4T grantee, investigated Kenya’s growing burden of drug resistant Tuberculosis. DR-TB is exerting a significant strain on the country’s economy and the health of the patients. It is six times more expensive to treat the disease per episode than it is drug-sensitive Tuberculosis, notwithstanding the severe side effects.
